Demo School With The Link & List Communicator

Welcome to eAfrica's Demo School Website

Two Audiences

Schools have two audiences; the existing school community and prospective or new members of the school community.
  • The existing community know all about the school but they have a regular need for information and facts; team selections, test time tables, etc.
  • Prospect new members will be occasional visitors that seek to appreciate what the school has to offer; facilities, academic and sporting record, camaraderie, etc.

Four Channel Communication

The objective is to connect, establish a conversation and build a relationship. The four channels specialise in meeting specific needs:
  1. The website must address the needs of new and prospective members of the community.
  2. The COMMUNICATOR must provide the Quick Links needed to easily and fast get the facts needed.
  3. The Blog establishes the two way conversation and markets the school to families on Facebook and to businesses on LinkedIn.
  4. Fully integrating with social media enables the school community to assist and be involved in gathering fresh content on school activities.

Overview

On this Website we illustrate the functionality of the Webo Packages available.
  • The Link & List COMMUNICATOR is a mock up of a school communicator.
  • The Website, Flip Books, Online Forms, Store and Blog illustrate some of the functionality that these content managers offer.
The innovation that our COMMUNICATOR is lies in its simplicity and technology.
  • It is built on a standard webpage platform so that it offers complete webpage functionality in relation to text, image, video, etc.
  • What makes it unique is the option to set the page width so that you can create phone screen sized webpages.
  • These webpages have a menu bar down the right hand side with drop down sub menus if needed. We call these menu tab options "Quick Links."
The standard webpage platform opens the door to page book marking, page stability and reliability.
  • Page book marking is an old idea.
  • What  is new is the simplicity that it brings to "pull" versus "push" messaging.
  • Yes, e-mail and messages arriving at all times of the day, some with pop-ups are often a cause of irritation.
  • Our book marked buttons on home screens place the content, a tap away, ready to be "pulled" when opened at a convenient time.

Is your school's Website at the center of your communications plan?

The objective of this site is to explore the elements that support the optimization of a school's communication platform. In addition, we present the online enablers that we offer in support of community communication. Not only do we offer cutting edge communication enablers but we interface with social and other media to enable you to engage with your community.
Websites of old were built to be designer creations that mimicked printed brochures.
Social media popularity has changed the Website playing field to one that, for success, demands:
  • Mobile phone and personal computer usability; tap-to-dial functionality, linking and hyper-linking, auto updating contact lists, webpages (including size determination and layout design), flip books, e-commerce webpages, classified stores and more.
  • Access to resources; audio, document, image and video libraries, lesson plans, speeches, time-tables, etc.
  • Dynamic participation enablers; blogs, online forms, social media and more.
  • Networking opportunities; open and closed online discussion groups, face to face meetings, etc.
  • Social media integration; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

Why is a BLOG important?

Many a dynamic school community started out by exploring their home zone; clearly defining the needs of external audiences and their internal community. Ubuntu (compassion and humanity) are a good starting point however age-old African wisdom dictates that it takes a village to raise a child! There will be times for collaboration and partnerships with like-minded academic institutions, local health and social services, youth and community groups, the school administration,  offering extra mural activities, students, teachers, parents, etc. It's about leadership, caring and sharing.
