Johan Engelbrecht has worked within the Arts for the past 36 years.
He is an award winning Author, Actor, Designer as well as Singer and
Television maker.
‘kaffertjie – a love story’ is his debut novel.
Johan studied Drama with the intent to become a stage designer.
He was appointed by the Transvaal Performing Arts Council as a full-time set- and costume designer. Two years later he was signed up as full time actor with the Drama Company and went onto appearing in more than 80 stage productions, ranging from drama, musicals, cabaret and pantomimes and also in many television productions as actor, singer and also as designer. He continued to work as a director of television programmes, here and abroad.
Johan is currently re-visiting the screenplay of the novel which has to become a film.
